Movie Tips
Hello everyone. How are you today? Check out these movies and think about during them. I'll be posting some cool stuff in a few hours because now I have some things to do. So stay tuned for more!
Donnie Darko (2001)
Drama | Mystery | Sci-Fi
Info:
A troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a large bunny rabbit that manipulates him to commit a series of crimes, after narrowly escaping a bizarre accident.
Review:
Donnie Darko was a great and thought provoking movie. Most people will probably not understand the movie the first time they watch it, because they don't know what to watch for, but the 2nd time you watch the movie most will consider it a great and profound movie.
Another way to understand Donnie Darko is to have someone that has already seen the movie to watch it with you and tell you which parts of the movie to remember towards the end of the movie. This is not a movie to watch if one does not like to think during movies.
Pan's Labyrinth (2006)
Drama
Info:
In the fascist Spain of 1944, the bookish young stepdaughter of a sadistic army officer escapes into an eerie but captivating fantasy world.
Review:
I just finished the movie yesterday and I must say that this is by far one of the most artistic and beautiful movies I have seen in years. The producers of the film were right to call this a modern fairytale, since it has all the ingredients for an authentic Brothers Grimm story. Just don't expect there to be lots of happy faces in the film. This is a real, bloody (very bloody), moody, emotional fairy tale just like the ones in the past.
Flashbacks of a Fool (2008)
Drama
Info:
A fading Hollywood star looks back at the days of his youth as he returns home from his best friend's funeral.
Review:
I really loved this movie! It makes you to think and talk about it after you have seen it. Sometimes when you are so high in your life you're living, nothing is important more than yourself until something personally hits you This film tells you that you have to go down rock bottom to stop and realize your past and your mistakes you have done. And this one film tells you everything you need to know about mistakes when we are still innocent and young and in the same time even when you are young you still feel guilt of what happens around you. But it is never too late and i think everyone deserves a second chance
Donnie Darko is overrated, imo.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say Pan's Labrynth made me think, but it was fun to watch.
You messed up the third, I think.

ReplyDeleteI loved Donnie Darko. I can't even imagine what kind of a person it takes to think up a movie like that... A future millionaire, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteI've seen all of these except for the last one, "Flashbacks of a Fool". Donnie Darko was a surprisingly good film, but Pan's Labyrinth was just too bleak for me...
ReplyDeleteI've never watched that last one Flashbacks of a Fool. I shall definitely check it out since I love the others you've mentioned =]

ReplyDeletedonnie darko was an awesome movie i suggest adding "waking life" for those who like lucid dreaming because that also made you think
ReplyDeleteI'm about to get speared by movie buffs, but Pleasantville had me considering issues like safety and comfort versus freedom of expression, and so forth.
